00:02:03 Well, there isn't really any way to do that per se,
00:02:05 you don't have wildcard characters and that sort of thing,
00:02:09 but you do have the letter e, and you may wonder
00:02:12 why in the world I would mention that.
00:02:14 Well, let me show you.
00:02:15 I'll go ahead and cancel out here
00:02:16 and I'll switch over to this rather compulsive document
00:02:20 that lists a bunch of common color names.
00:02:22 Now, these are by no means all the color names, of course,
00:02:26 but they are a representative few.
00:02:28 Now I'll go ahead and scroll down
00:02:29 to the bottom of the Layers panel
00:02:31 and I'll turn off this layer of colors
00:02:34 and then I'll turn on this layer right here
00:02:36 and what we're seeing is 24 out of 26
00:02:40 of the letters in the alphabet,
00:02:41 I'm not listing X or J, which are extremely rare characters,
00:02:45 but all the other characters in their order of popularity
00:02:49 in the English language,
00:02:51 and so the most popular letter in English is E
00:02:54 and then second is T, A, O and so forth.
00:02:58 Among my list of color names right here,
00:03:01 it runs a little differently.
00:03:02 What I found was I had 24 occurrences of the letter E,
00:03:06 eight of T and then more of A,
00:03:09 lots of N and R and so forth,
00:03:12 but some of these characters I ruled out
00:03:14 because R, for example, is used in
00:03:16 any RGB definition, C is used in any
00:03:20 CMYK definition and so forth,
00:03:23 and so, if you're just trying
00:03:24 to find colors that you've named,
00:03:26 it's very possible that they're going to contain
00:03:28 the letter E, and then what I did next was basically
00:03:31 rank these letters by how popular they are
00:03:34 and I gave them little awards here, so
00:03:36 the blue ribbon goes to E,
00:03:38 the second place red ribbon goes to A,
00:03:40 usually a third place ribbon is white, but
00:03:42 that's not going to work for this document,
00:03:44 so, anyway, you get a sense of what I've done here
00:03:46 and I've crossed out the letters
00:03:48 that you don't want to search for.
00:03:50 Then I figured out, alright, all of these colors
00:03:53 are covered by a search for the letter E
00:03:56 and then these guys with the red letter As,
00:03:58 they are covered by a search for A,
00:04:01 and you can't do a search for E and A by the way,
00:04:03 you just have to do independent searches,
00:04:05 but between E and A, we've covered just about every color.
00:04:08 If we move on to searching for N,
00:04:10 then we rule out everybody but gold
00:04:13 and then finally, just for fun,
00:04:15 I was telling you this was a compulsive document,
00:04:17 I've gone ahead and highlighted
00:04:19 all those award winning letters
00:04:21 inside of our various color names
00:04:24 and so if I go ahead and switch back
00:04:26 to my calendar document and I double click
00:04:29 on the fill in order to bring up the Color Picker dialog box
00:04:32 and then click on the Color Swatches button,
00:04:34 I can now enter the letter E and I will,
00:04:38 not coincidentally, find every single one
00:04:41 of my custom colors, along with
00:04:44 the default colors CMYK Red, Yellow,
00:04:46 Green, Blue and Magenta,
00:04:48 the only one we're not seeing is Cyan
00:04:51 because it does not contain the letter E.
00:04:53 And that's how you search through your swatches,
00:04:56 specifically here inside the Color Picker dialog box.
