00:01:54  and perhaps a smaller one right there.

00:01:56  And then I'll just paint the rest of the cloud,

00:01:58  in order to finish off that effect.

00:02:00  And now I'm going to go ahead and create another one

00:02:02  over here on the right hand side.

00:02:04  And you may have noticed

00:02:05  that I kind of misjoining these guys together,

00:02:07  and that's because I was clicking at different locations,

00:02:10  and because of that setting, that checkbox up here,

00:02:12  Merge Only with Selection, I have to have the clouds

00:02:15  selected in order to merge them.

00:02:17  Which means, that I could press the ctrl and shift keys,

00:02:20  that's command and shift on the mac,

00:02:22  and then click, on this cloud to select it,

00:02:24  and then if I just drag like so,

00:02:26  I'm going to merge all those clouds together.

00:02:29  Alright, now I might press shift, right arrow,

00:02:31  just to nudge those guys to the right a little bit,

00:02:33  and now I'm going to zoom in even more,

00:02:35  and I'm going to press ctrl, shift, a,

00:02:37  or command, shift, a, on a Mac to deselect the clouds.

00:02:40  And I'm going to change the fill color up here,

00:02:43  either fill or stroke actually,

00:02:45  to this light shade of gray,

00:02:46  where all the RGB values are 204.

00:02:49  And then, I'll press the escape key to hide that panel,

00:02:52  and I'll go ahead and increase the size of my brush

00:02:54  a little bit more, and I'll click there,

00:02:56  and then I'll reduce the size of my brush,

00:02:58  click right about here,

00:03:00  and I'll increase the size again, and click there.

00:03:03  Alright, now what we need to do,

00:03:04  is erase away some of these ellipses,

00:03:07  so that just the bottom edges of the clouds are gray.

00:03:09  And so I'll do that by first switching to the Eraser Tool,

00:03:12  which I can now get by pressing the e key,

00:03:14  and then I'll press the enter key,

00:03:15  or the return key on the Mac,

00:03:17  to bring up the Eraser Tool Options,

00:03:19  and I'll change its Roundness value to 75% as well,

00:03:22  and press the enter key,

00:03:23  or the return key on the Mac, to apply that change.

00:03:26  And now I'm going to make my brush just slightly smaller,

00:03:29  than this right hand ellipse.

00:03:31  And I'm going to click right about there,

00:03:32  and now I'll make the brush smaller still,

00:03:35  and click here, and then I'll make the brush bigger,

00:03:38  and the Eraser Tool seems to react much more quickly

00:03:41  than the Blob Brush, to you pressing the bracket keys,

00:03:44  so just bear that in mind.

00:03:45  And then, click a third time in order to create this effect,

00:03:48  and now I'll press ctrl, shift, a,

00:03:50  or command, shift, a, on the Mac,

00:03:51  to deselect those paths.

00:03:53  Alright, now let's go back to the very first cloud,

00:03:56  and select the Blob Brush once again,

00:03:59  and it looks like my cursor's big enough

00:04:01  to click right there, in the center of things,

00:04:04  and now I'll reduce the size of my brush,

00:04:06  and I'll click here, and here,

00:04:09  and then finally I'll reduce the brush size even further,

00:04:12  but not too far because I want to be able to click

00:04:14  on that selection, right at this location here.

00:04:18  Alright, now I'll return to the Eraser Tool.

00:04:20  Again, you can get that by pressing the e key,

00:04:22  and I'll click here with a slightly smaller brush I think.

00:04:26  And right about there, with a pretty large brush.

00:04:29  A still bigger brush is needed at this location

00:04:32  and then a smaller brush again right there.

00:04:34  Alright, now I'm going to switch back to the Blob Brush.

00:04:36  And I'll go ahead and zoom out by pressing ctrl, zero,

00:04:39  or command, zero, on the Mac,

00:04:40  and I'm going to zoom in on the right hand side,

00:04:43  once again, to create those birds,

00:04:46  and I'm going to make that happen by pressing the enter key,

00:04:48  or the return key on a Mac,

00:04:49  to once again bring up this dialogue box.

00:04:51  And this time I'm going to take the Roundness value

00:04:53  down to 50%, and I'll click OK,

00:04:55  in order to accept that change.

00:04:57  And I'm going to change the fill color to black,

00:05:00  this time, and I'll just go ahead

00:05:02  and click right about there,

00:05:04  and just to the right to add another ellipse to that shape.

00:05:08  Alright, now I want to erase into those shapes slightly.

00:05:10  So I'll switch back to the Eraser Tool,

00:05:12  and I'll press the enter key, or the return key on the Mac,

00:05:15  in order to bring up the dialogue box.

00:05:17  I'll change the Roundness value to once again to 50%,

00:05:20  and then I'll press the left bracket key a couple of times,

00:05:22  in order to reduce the size of my brush,

00:05:25  maybe to about there, let's say.

00:05:27  So my ellipse brush is a little bigger

00:05:29  than the one that I used with the Blob Brush Tool,

00:05:31  and now I'll click right about there.

00:05:33  Alright, now I'm going to press the v key

00:05:34  to switch back to the Arrow Tool.

00:05:36  I think my bird is a little too big at this point,

00:05:39  so I'll click on the word Transform,

00:05:41  up here in the Control Panel,

00:05:42  and you want to make sure that the chain icon

00:05:44  is turned on, at which point,

00:05:45  I'll go ahead and click on the w, to select the width value,

00:05:49  and I'll change it to 50 points,

00:05:51  and that'll reduce the size of the bird quite a bit.

00:05:53  And now, I'll go ahead and move this guy over to right here,

00:05:56  let's say, and then I'll create a copy at this location

00:05:59  by pressing and holding the alt key at the end of the drag.

00:06:02  And then, I'll create a third bird over

00:06:05  at this location right there.

00:06:07  And then, I'll go ahead press ctrl, zero,

00:06:08  or command, zero, on the mac to zoom out.

00:06:11  I think these guys should be on the background layer,

00:06:13  so I'm going to go ahead and marquee these shapes

00:06:14  over here, on the right hand side,

00:06:16  and then I'll shift marquee the ones over here

00:06:19  on the left hand side.

00:06:20  I messed up that shape right there.

00:06:22  I went and colored it black, but in any event,

00:06:25  I'm going to unlock my background layer,

00:06:27  by clicking on this lock icon,

00:06:28  then I'll drag that purple square down,

00:06:31  so that all the shapes are now on the background layer.

00:06:34  I'll click off the shapes to deselect them.

00:06:36  I'll select this guy again, and I'll click on its fill icon,

00:06:39  and change it back to that light shade of gray.

00:06:42  And then I'll click off the shapes to deselect them.

00:06:44  Unfortunately, that went and selected the sky.

00:06:46  And so to deselect it, I'll just go ahead

00:06:48  and lock down that layer by once again,

00:06:50  clicking in that second column.

00:06:52  And now I'll zoom in slightly

00:06:54  so that we can take in the final effect.

00:06:56  And that's how you create a couple of cartoon clouds

00:06:59  and some distant birds, by once again,

00:07:01  simply clicking with the Blob Brush and the Eraser Tool,

00:07:04  set to reduced Roundness values.
